Questions we get asked first
The things eClinicalWorks practices want settled before a demo.
What happens to a fax covering several patients?
It can be split into separate documents so each one files to the right eClinicalWorks chart. This comes up constantly with batched lab results and records requests.
Is the patient match automatic?
Not on eClinicalWorks. Automatic matching is a Practice Fusion capability today. On eClinicalWorks, a person selects the patient. The document already carries an AI summary and a type tag, so identifying it takes seconds rather than a full read.
Can we port our existing fax number?
Yes. Porting means referring offices and pharmacies carry on as before. A new number can run alongside during a transition if you prefer.
Can we fax a whole chart out of eClinicalWorks?
Not yet. That one is in development. Faxing individual documents and creating referrals from the chart both work now.
Does this replace our fax machine entirely?
Yes. There is no analog line, no hardware, and no toner. Working in the browser is also what makes direct filing to the chart possible.
Is it HIPAA compliant?
Yes. PHI is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is logged, and a Business Associate Agreement is signed during onboarding. See our HIPAA compliance page.
