AdvancedMD Cloud Faxing

Faxes arrive as readable documents, not a stack of paper. DashQuill reads each one, summarizes it, and routes it to the right inbox. Filing it to an AdvancedMD chart takes a click, and referrals go out from the chart instead of from a printer.

Trusted by AdvancedMD practices nationwide

Inbound and outbound

Referral-heavy AdvancedMD practices send as much as they receive, and the outbound side is usually the one still stuck on paper.

1

Keep or replace your number

Port your existing fax number so referring offices see no change, or start with a new one. There is no hardware to install either way.

2

Faxes arrive triaged

Each document is read, summarized, tagged by type, and routed to a provider or virtual inbox instead of one undifferentiated queue.

3

Send from the chart

Fax a referral straight from the AdvancedMD chart, or annotate an inbound document and forward it on.

What practices say

Referrals that start where the patient is

Building a referral normally means printing from the chart, filling out a form by hand, and feeding it into a machine. Starting from the AdvancedMD chart keeps the patient's details attached to what you are sending.

  • Create referrals from the AdvancedMD chart
  • Annotate, fill and sign documents in the browser before sending
  • Reusable recipients and cover pages instead of retyped details
  • Sent items are searchable rather than filed in a drawer

Inbound documents stop touching workstations

The print-scan-upload-delete cycle leaves copies of PHI in three places. Importing from the fax inbox straight into the AdvancedMD chart skips all of them.

  • Import fax files directly into the AdvancedMD chart
  • AI summary and type tagging on every inbound document
  • Provider and virtual inboxes with resolved and unresolved tracking
  • Full-text search across everything received

Questions we get asked first

The things AdvancedMD practices want settled before a demo.

Can we generate referrals without printing?

Yes. Referrals are created from the AdvancedMD chart and sent from the browser, with annotation and signing handled there too. No printer and no scanner in the loop.

Are inbound faxes matched to patients automatically?

Not on AdvancedMD. That is a Practice Fusion capability today. On AdvancedMD, a staff member picks the patient, but the AI has already read, summarized, and tagged the document.

Can we fax an entire chart out of AdvancedMD?

Not yet. It is in development. Faxing individual documents and creating referrals from the chart are both available now.

Will we keep our fax number?

Yes. Numbers port across, so referring providers and pharmacies do not need to be told anything. A new number can run alongside during the changeover.

Is there any hardware?

None. No machine, no analog line, no toner. Everything runs in the browser, which is what makes the direct chart filing possible.

Is it HIPAA compliant?

Yes. Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is logged, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement during onboarding. See the HIPAA compliance page.
