Uploads get filed as the right kind of document
A chart full of attachments named after a scanner is not a record anyone can search. On AthenaHealth, DashQuill assigns the document type when it files, so an insurance card is stored as an insurance card.

Questions we get asked first
The things AthenaHealth practices want settled before a demo.
Can a form create a new AthenaHealth patient?
Not today. The patient has to exist in AthenaHealth before a submission can be imported into their chart. Creating a patient from a submission is live on Practice Fusion only. For new patients on AthenaHealth, the chart is created first and the form fills it in.
Does the preferred pharmacy come across?
Not yet on AthenaHealth. It is still in development here, even though it works on our other integrations. You can still ask for it on the form. It just is not written into the pharmacy field automatically.
How is this different from an online form that emails a PDF?
A PDF has to be read and retyped. Here the answers map to AthenaHealth fields, so the remaining work is reviewing a comparison and clicking Import. Attachments also file under the correct document type rather than as untitled images.
How do patients receive forms?
By text or email, from a link in an appointment reminder, from your website, through a QR code, or on a tablet at the front desk. Everything arrives in the same queue however it was completed.
How long does it take to set up?
Most practices are live within a few days. Your existing forms are converted and the fields mapped to AthenaHealth during onboarding. The timeline mostly depends on how many forms you bring across.
Is it HIPAA compliant?
Yes. PHI is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is controlled and logged, and a Business Associate Agreement is part of standard onboarding. See our HIPAA compliance page for specifics.
